Crossbody Bag Search and Reveal

Hi Friends!
Long time no post. I can only blame it on our recent move and the inability to find anything. Once I find my tripod, there will be some new outfit posts. Whenever that is...

I've been on the search for a smaller crossbody bag for awhile now. Initially, I was interested in the LV Saumur 30, but wasn't too fond of getting another monogram print crossbody bag (the Speedy B is too similar). It is a very functional and practical bag, and maybe if it ever comes out in Damier Ebene I will reconsider.

The Chanel Half Moon WOC seems like the perfect bag. I was trying to stay away from black and almost all the pre-owned options I found within my budget were black. So I eventually just gave up after a year or so. I could have bought a metallic one in new condition, but the frugal gal in me just couldn't pull the trigger.

So I pretty much gave up and would infrequently pop into my favorite pre-owned sites to browse around. Also, because of the few shopping diets I took this year, my shopping habits had changed and I became overly critical of the quality and value of luxury goods. In addition, we bought our first home and the expenses associated with that definitely helped curb my spending for a few months. Plus it's so fun decorating and improving your first home.

Sleepy eyed this morning, I was browsing the usual morning emails and saw this New Arrival from Malleries.

I clicked and it was love at first sight. I wouldn't call it an impulse purchase, more a "I know what I've been looking for forever and here it finally is" purchase.

So here's the irresistible red lady....a (vintage?) Chanel Mini Classic Flap in lambskin leather from Garo. I like its rectangular rectangular shape vs. the square shape of more recent minis. Soon (when I find the tripod) I will post some outfit pics with this bag.

I am so glad I waited, as I just know this is exactly what I was looking for. It's not black like all my other Cocos and it will add a pop of color to any plain outfit. Thanks for letting me share my small crossbody search story. Have you ever looked for something for so long that once you find it, you know it's exactly what you've been looking for?

Trip to Tory Burch Outlet

This past weekend I had an opportunity to visit the Tory Burch Outlet in Cabazon en route to Palm Springs for a GF's bachelorette party. I was there primarily for shoes, but they had an awesome selection of handbags and accessories. The store was beautiful, organized, and the staff had excellent customer service. There were tons of their popular Revas, in addition to sandals, wedges, lots of rain boots, and pumps to choose from.
Above are some of the shoes I tried on. If my budget would allow, I would've bought 5 pairs, but I could only swing 2 pairs. The shoe prices weren't deeply discounted, but I appreciated the 25-35% discount from retail.
Check back later to see what I bought!

My New Travel Bag: 1995 Louis Vuitton Flanerie 45

Thanks for excusing my craptastic "mobile" pics.
I'm in the Midwest for a few days this week.  I really do love it out here.  The people are so nice and the change in weather is pretty fun.  Plus they have cheeses and beers I can't get get out in CA.
I found my holy grail travel bag from eBay, the Louis Vuitton Flanerie 45 made in 1995 from seller "bebeebeee" based in Hong Kong.  I love the long straps, generous enterior, and how lightweight this bag is.  My Longchamp Le Pilage tote is wearing through on all four corners, so I'm glad I found a more trusty replacement within my budget.  It's in extremely pristine shape for being 17 years old.  I'm so grateful the previous owner gave it up for adoption :)

Missoni for Target Christmas Miracle

Were you part of the Missoni for Target craze a few months back?  I'm proud to admit I was and was more than disappointed when Target cancelled my orders.

There was a website replenishment recently and luckily I snagged up these two throws.  I love 'em.

Some online have said the 2nd run throws are far inferior in quality than the original run.  I guess in this case, I would say ignorance is bliss since I wasn't lucky enough to grab a 1st run throw.

They're cuddly and warm, so I'm happy.

Loving This Nerd Dress!

How cute is Tania (from What Would a Nerd Wear) in this dress from Spotted Moth?  Can you believe it's only $36 and comes in these two fab colors?   It looks much better on her than the mannequin. You might just see this on me in the next few months :)

Hallelujah!

The Target Pearce Pump is back in stock!  Thanks to Extra Petite, I grabbed the camel and the grey in patent with 20% off!

Legacy of Anthropologie Stormy Seas

Do these images of the infamous Anthropologie Stormy Sea necklace make your heart drop? I know, I know, I feel the same way. Originally priced at $48, you can still find a few on eBay for nearly double or triple the price.

It's just a necklace afterall, right? Then why the heck do I scour the web to find a look-alike? Here are some fun options if you're on the hunt for the Anthropologie Stormy Seas Necklace:

I found something similar here (pictured above).

And here, found at Francesca's (for $35) in Madison, WI during a business trip.

Etsy Finds

As I'm sure you agree- shopping can be exhausting.  Shopping for great deals can even be more exhausting.  Although I love thrifting (new found love), it makes my allergies go bonkers!...to the point I feel miserable. Thank goodness for online shopping right?

The go-to place for me, is of course, etsy.com.  I love supporting small (very tiny) businesses and finding great pieces.    Here are a few of my March favorites:

Vintage Fashion Retro
Can't wait for the mail carrier to deliver these four beauties to my doorstep!

Demolition Daughters

Brooch Maker
I ordered a bunch of these beauties because they are so darn affordable and cute!  Can we say Coco?

Do you have go-to sellers on etsy or ebay?  Please share your favorites!
Next up for tomorrow...some of my favorite shoes and belts.

Loving Thrifting!

I'm sure I just broke some law of English by using two "ings" back to back.  But I had to...it's the only way to express my new found love of thrifting!

Have I ever bought anything from a thrift/ second hand store prior to starting this blog?
- Sadly, the answer is no.

But the good news is I have sooooo much to discover and share with you here.  This past weekend I made stops at Goodwill and neighborhood thrift/consignment stores.  I am more than excited to share some of the great finds here.

These tops were just waiting for me to take them home.
Magenta blouse: $6
Navy polka dot blouse: $7

I love, love, love the various scarves I found and can't wait to incorporate these into my wardrobe.
Scarves: $4-$8 each

I saw this skirt just last year at Anthropologie and here it is!  I'm not sure if it came with a belt, but that's A-OK with me, because I love incorporating my own belts.
Odille A-Line skirt: $16

How in the world was I (a first time thrifter) lucky enough to find a Burberry Trench?  I have no idea, nor do I want to question my luck.

Burberry Trench: $97

It even comes with a removable wool liner:

Purchasing classic/timeless pieces is a goal of mine.  I think I did well with this navy skirt.
Ralph Lauren Wool Skirt: $10

This gorgeous french blue babe was just screaming my name.  Can you imagine pairing it with some crisp whites and neutrals?
High-waist vintage straight skirt: $12
Naturally, all the above will get dry cleaned and undergo some "nip/tuck" (alterations).  When they return, I will post some pics here!
