Anthro Shopping

What a gorgeous weekend we've had in the bay.  Today I went to Anthro to check out the sale section and found nothing on sale I couldn't leave without.

I went in with this outfit....
Shoes- F21 (runs big)

...then tried on this yellow skirt and fell in love.

 Skirt (similar)

Do you like it?  I can't decide if I should keep it- at $98 it is WAY out of my budget.

No outfit today, but...

...I did wear clothes. Had I taken pictures, they would be more suited for Peopleofwalmart.com than here. So I decided to spare you the agony. *you're welcome*

Since I stain/water treated four pairs of my shoes today, I decided to do a photoshoot. My love for colored shoes and brooches is fairly new and I can say it's helped add another dimension to my wardrobe.

On their own, there's no denying these shoes provide a pop of color (not so much the taupe pair).

By no coincidence do I have matching brooches. I add these to my sweater, hair, string of pearls, and even handbag.

In addition to the brooches, I also have a 3rd accessory in the same color family. Nothing has to match exactly, since monochromatic is hot right now. I most likely will not wear ALL 3 pieces together, but I prefer to have options when accessorizing.

Thanks for checking out my accessories. Are you big on color coordinating accessories or is it just too much matching for you?

Hallelujah!

The Target Pearce Pump is back in stock!  Thanks to Extra Petite, I grabbed the camel and the grey in patent with 20% off!

Blowing Away!

I visited some friends in SF for happy hour after work today. It was sure a windy day and I didn't feel like making my hair cooperate. So cropping is the best solution!

Outfit:
I picked up this navy wool skirt at a local consignment store. I'm going to get the hem taken up ~ 1"- it was my first time wearing this skirt.

The jacket was on super-sale at LOFT. I love this jacket because it also goes great with jeans.

The shoes and jacket are from Target. I would highly recommend nude/taupe heels- they match everything!

Easter Brunch

I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter! We had a great day with the family and enjoyed some yummy brunch. It was all you can eat at Pican- a fabulous restaurant in Oakland. You can tell how long we sat and ate (and ate some more) by the wrinkles on my skirt ;)

Outfit:
I looooove this Jcrew top I purchased pre-loved from eBay. Ever since seeing this photo in Nordstrom's catalog, I knew I had to find a ruffled polka-dot shirt.

The mustard yellow sweater & pumps are from UO- and I adore them both. I plan on buying these suede pumps in every color :) Watch me.

I dropped into the GAP outlet to surprisingly find some great stuff- including this genuine leather red belt. It wasn't until I wore pleather belts I began to appreciate how well leather molds and hugs your waist comfortably.

Jeremy's is my favorite local re-seller of all things Anthropologie and UO. This Isla skirt was only $11. Score!

Can't say enough great things about brooches of all different colors and sizes

I finally got to wear my Burberry trench from consignment!

Chopped the Mop

I had scheduled my bang trim for 1 hour after a baby shower I was co-hosting.  I was running late as usual and briskly walked/jogged to the salon from my house, in the infamous Bay Area mist.  Mist is just the darn most annoying thing ever.

By the time I arrived, I sat in my hair stylist's seat to find a hot mess looking back at me in the mirror.  My hair looked like a dead animal.

So my bang trim turned into a 5" haircut.  It's going to take some getting used to, but I don't regret having an extra 15 minutes in the morning.

Outfit:
This dress was on sale at my local Urban Outfitters for $29.  It seemed like a pretty versatile piece, so I decided to break the rules and wear black with blue (almost navy) and brown.

To add shape to this shapeless dress, I added a random pleather brown belt I had laying around.

These tights from UO are soooo comfortable.  I bought them in a size L and I couldn't be happier with how they feel.

How great are these ASOS oxford heels?  I checked today and they were further marked down, so grab 'em while you can.

My chambray shirt is from J.Crew- got it for a steal online.  It's my first time wearing it and I can tell it will be a go-to piece in my closet.

Strollers Are Crazy

SHOP: Cardigan: UO/ Bag: thrifted/ Top: JCrew/ scarf: Etsy/ yellow pumps: UO/ Trouser Jeans (similar): Ann Taylor Factory

We all know how tight the sale section at Anthro can get.  Add strollers to the mix and I'm outta there.  Maybe because I'm not a mom, but I think strollers are crazy and even crazier in the sale section.  It stressed me out.

I am in LOVE with my new ETSY infinity scarf. It's gorgeous. There may be a few left here.

This is my 2nd time wearing my thrifted $8 crossbody bag and I'm really digging it. The leather is buttery soft and it was in pristine condition when I found it- I hope to keep it that way...but that's wishful thinking.

Legacy of Anthropologie Stormy Seas

Do these images of the infamous Anthropologie Stormy Sea necklace make your heart drop? I know, I know, I feel the same way. Originally priced at $48, you can still find a few on eBay for nearly double or triple the price.

It's just a necklace afterall, right? Then why the heck do I scour the web to find a look-alike? Here are some fun options if you're on the hunt for the Anthropologie Stormy Seas Necklace:

I found something similar here (pictured above).

And here, found at Francesca's (for $35) in Madison, WI during a business trip.

Strange Weather

Right before we took these pictures it looked like it was about to rain, plus my hubs was in a rush to get to work, so I didn't quite finish styling today's look. We took a few pictures, then the sun came out and made the lighting all wrong. Oh well.

I worked at home today, so this is both my Granola and Glam outfit.

I picked up this shirt at Forever21 in Times Square without trying it on. The first time I tried it on was this time and I like it. It's layer'able and can be worn year round. FYI, this is a large.

I bought my UO boots in Boise, ID on super sale. I treat them pretty poorly but they are one of my favorites and never let me down. I don't recommend treating your best friends the same way :)

Brooch Storage

Here's a picture of how I store my brooch collection.

I hang a 2" (width) satin ribbon on the slats of my closet doors.  Then I pin or clip them to the ribbon- simple as that!  Because the brooches are hanging near my clothes, I can quickly pick one out to wear for the day.

Do you have a creative way of storing accessories?  Jewelry, tights, scarves, etc?  I would love to hear your ideas!
